Risedronate Sodium 35 mg – Weekly Osteoporosis Care

Risobis 35 Tablet is used to treat or prevent weakening of the bones (osteoporosis) caused by menopause or use of steroids. Using this medicine can reduce your risk of breaking bones.

Risobis 35 Tablet is best taken without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it.  It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Risobis 35 Tablet is only part of a programme of treatment that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.

  • Film coated tablet for oral use
Dosage / Administration
One tablet once weekly or as directed by the physician. Best taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water.

HOW TO USE RISOBIS 35 TABLET
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Risobis 35 Tablet is to be taken on an empty stomach.
HOW RISOBIS 35 TABLET WORKS
Risobis 35 Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
SAFETY ADVICE

Alcohol - UNSAFE

Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Risobis 35 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy - CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Risobis 35 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding - CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Risobis 35 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving - CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Risobis 35 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney - CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Risobis 35 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Risobis 35 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver - CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Risobis 35 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Risobis 35 Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE RISOBIS 35 TABLET?
If you miss a dose of Risobis 35 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
